Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) continues to emerge as a complex and evolving issue across sport, medicine and the insurance landscape. Medical understanding is developing, legal frameworks are still taking shape, and decisions are often being made where the science is not yet settled.

In light of these rapidly evolving issues, Barry Nilsson’s Insurance & Health team recently published Navigating CTE Claims: A guide for insurers, which examines the current claims environment and emerging risk considerations.

With the sporting season now underway and concussion once again in focus across contact sports, Barry Nilsson and Unisearch Expert Opinion Services invite you to join us for an engaging discussion on the current state of play of CTE, including key challenges around diagnosis and causation, medical uncertainty, evidentiary issues, and how liability may arise as this area continues to develop.

Barry Nilsson Principal, Scott Shelly will be joined by Unisearch Expert Witness, Professor Rowena Mobbs, to explore these issues from both legal and medical perspectives. Moderated by Unisearch Business Development Manager, Christopher Yong, this session is designed for claims managers, insurers, health industry professionals, and others interested in how CTE claims may evolve. Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive Q&A with our panel.

If you’ve already read the report, this session will provide additional context and further insight. If you haven’t had a chance, you can download a copy below.
