Thea Davies

Thea Davies is a Principal in our Family Law team and is based in the Brisbane office. She is also an Accredited Specialist in Family Law with the Queensland Law Society.

Prior to joining Barry Nilsson, Thea practised in the areas of family law, domestic violence and child protection. She now provides advice in all areas of family law, including:

• Divorce
• Property settlements
• Child support
• Domestic violence.

Thea is an experienced advocate. She has a particular interest in advising clients dealing with complex financial issues and parenting issues.

‘I enjoy working in the Family Law team at Barry Nilsson because the team has such depth of experience. The cases we work on are interesting and I enjoy assisting clients in what is usually a very difficult time of their lives. It is particularly rewarding when I can work closely with a client to achieve the best possible outcome in the circumstances.’

Thea has been consistently recognised in Doyle's Guide, most recently in the 2024 edition as a Recommended Family & Divorce Lawyer and a Leading Parenting & Children’s Matters Lawyer. She has also been recognised in Best Lawyers for Family Law since 2020.

Thea has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (International Business). She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Queensland Family Law Practitioners Association, a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland.
