Sydney Gale
Associate

Practising in our family law team, Sydney provides advice to people undergoing separation, as well as third parties to family law disputes.
Sydney regularly acts for clients in relation to complex property settlement disputes involving corporate and trust structures, parenting disputes (including where there are allegations of risk), divorce applications, and binding financial agreements.
Sydney has worked exclusively in family law since 2022. Prior to joining Barry Nilsson, she worked as an associate to a Senior Judicial Registrar and a judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. These roles gave her an in-depth understanding of the litigation process in both complex property and parenting proceedings. Drawing on this experience, she aims to help clients navigate family law with clarity and confidence, empowering them to make informed decisions at every stage of their matter.
'Every matter is unique in family law. I find it incredibly rewarding to work with clients to develop creative and pragmatic solutions that not only resolve their legal issues but also help them move forward with peace of mind.'
Sydney takes a practical and outcome-oriented approach to family law. During what is often a challenging and emotional time, she works closely with her clients to pinpoint the core issues in their dispute and develop a strategic approach designed to resolve their matter favourably and efficiently.
