Nick Robson

Nick Robson is a special counsel in our Insurance and Health team, and is based in the Brisbane office.

Nick has acted for insurers for over 20 years. He has particular expertise in respect of complex public liability claims. He has acquired niche experience in relation to injury claims arising out of licensed premises and in agricultural settings, as well as injuries sustained by Australian citizens while travelling overseas.

Nick was heavily involved in providing indemnity advice to insurers in respect of property damage claims arising out of the western Queensland floods in 2010 and the Brisbane floods in 2011. As a result he has acquired a deep understanding of hydrology evidence along with the specialised body of case law concerning the operation of flood exclusions.

Nick regularly advises clients in relation to coverage issues. “Policy construction is often complex and I get a real satisfaction in being able to help clients resolve difficult indemnity issues”.

Nick possesses strong technical skills and is keenly aware of the outcomes that insurers want to achieve.

“I have formed enduring relationships with a number of major insurers because I understand what my clients want and I do my best to help them achieve it”.

Nick has a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws as well as Bachelor of Business (Accounting).
