Maya is a Principal in our Family Law team and is based in the Sydney office. She's a NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist and has been practising in this jurisdiction for over 20 years.

Maya assists clients in all areas of family law including:

  • Property settlement
  • Spouse maintenance
  • Parenting matters
  • Financial agreements
  • Child support

Maya’s experience includes acting for parties in complex financial cases involving high net-worth individuals, family company and trust structures and valuation issues. She has an interest in the international aspects of family law disputes including cross-jurisdictional disputes and matters involving international relocation and child abduction.

'My approach is strategic, pragmatic and empathetic. I focus on achieving an early settlement for my clients within the range of what a Court might do so that they can move forward with their lives.'

Known for her technical expertise and pragmatic advice, Maya is committed to achieving the best result possible for her clients within a sensible framework, including through litigation where necessary. Maya is a trained collaborative lawyer and encourages a negotiated outcome where possible.

Maya has been consistently recognised in Doyles Guide since 2015 as a leader in her field, including in 2024 as a Leading Family Lawyer (High-Value & Complex Property Matters) in Sydney and Recommended Family & Divorce Lawyer both nationally and in Sydney.

Maya holds a Bachelor of Laws and Arts (Honours) from the Australian National University. Maya is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Professionals (NSW).
