Lynda Young

Lynda has practiced in insurance law since 2000 and is an experienced trial and appeal advocate. She specialises in casualty claims including general liability, product liability, and property damage as well as coverage issues.
Lynda has a diverse range of experience which includes defending personal injury and professional indemnity claims. She has advised on complex medical malpractice, professional liability, commercial, property, and general injury disputes, assessing damages for catastrophic injuries, nervous shock, and property damage losses. In addition, she advises on prospects of success for recovery actions, and pursues subrogated recovery claims.
Lynda acts for insurers, and a diverse range of businesses across sectors including finance, health, property, hospitality, retail, and manufacturing.
Having spent over 16 years at the NSW Bar, Lynda has extensive experience in conducting mediations and appearing in all court and tribunal jurisdictions in New South Wales, as well as running trials in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. Additionally, Lynda held an appointment as a member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal between 2018 and 2021.
