Louise Syme

Louise specialises in professional indemnity, with a focus on dispute resolution involving a range of employment and safety claims, Australian Consumer Law claims, and professional negligence.

Prior to joining BN, Louise was an advocate for the State Government, focusing on prosecuting statutory claims, providing statutory interpretation, representing the State and its departments in inquests and a Commission of Inquiry. Her responsibilities included training for investigators, authorised officers, and inspectors on the proper exercise of their statutory powers. Additionally, Louise conducted investigations into the professional conduct of legal practitioners. She has appeared in Courts and Tribunals on behalf of the State of Queensland and has extensive experience in trial preparation, witness preparation, and the conduct of trials. This background, with a focus on investigation, regulation, and mediation, means that Louise brings a unique range of skills and knowledge to supporting clients to defend or resolve their matters.
