Lee Lenkinski
Special Counsel
Lee is a Special Counsel in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Brisbane office.
Lee specialises in:
- Medico-legal litigation
- Coronial inquests
- Office of Health Ombudsman (OHO) and AHPRA matters
- Risk management advice, internal investigations and capacity and guardianship matters
Lee brings 13 years of expertise representing healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions in a broad array of litigation matters, with a specific expertise in medical negligence litigation and professional discipline matters involving regulated health professionals.

Prior to joining Barry Nilsson, Lee practiced as a Barrister and Solicitor in Toronto, Canada. Lee began his career at a national Canadian firm, representing public hospital clients in a broad range of litigation matters. Lee then served as inhouse counsel at the largest research and teaching hospital in Canada, the University Health Network. Prior to moving to Australia, Lee developed a growing practice representing physicians, nurses, dentists and other health professionals in a range of professional discipline matters and regulatory investigations.
Guided by his years in the courtroom, Lee takes an extremely common sense-based approach to dispute resolution and advice on clinical matters. He takes advantage of his advocacy experience, having acted as hearing, trial and appellate counsel for various healthcare facilities and professionals, to guide his advice to clients in the healthcare sector.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts and is qualified to practice in both Australia and Canada. He is a member of the Queensland Law Society and Medico Legal Society of Queensland.
