Kristie Swainston

Kristie is an experienced litigator specialising in insurance coverage, complex general liability, and professional indemnity matters.

Having practiced in insurance law since 2012, Kristie has extensive experience advising on claims involving catastrophic injury and death, coronial inquests, workplace investigations, and prosecutions. Her expertise includes acting in claims and investigations against professionals, including barristers, architects, allied health professionals, medical malpractice claims, and product liability.

Kristie represents insurers, businesses across sectors such as health, retail, construction and energy, and regularly advises professionals and a broad range of businesses.

Before joining Barry Nilsson, Kristie spent 15 years at a global law firm, focusing on complex litigation and contentious insurance matters.
