Jason acts for Australian and UK based insurers, underwriters and their insureds. He has extensive experience representing accountants, architects, company directors and officers, electrical contractors, engineers, finance brokers, financial advisors, mining companies and contractors, real estate and settlement agents, various medical practitioners and many others.

Jason defends claims involving professional negligence, contractual disputes, defamation, copyright infringement, unfair and misleading trade practices and directors’ liability. He also defends prosecutions for breaches of occupational health and safety legislation for various companies and individuals. Jason’s exposure to a broad range of industries has given him a strong understanding of various sectors of the economy and different fields of business.

‘The firm is dedicated to specialising and being the best in two core areas, one of which is insurance. I like being part of a firm that is focused and where everyone is pulling in the same direction. Our clients benefit from that approach. Plus, the size of the firm allows us to be flexible in order to respond to challenges in the market and our clients’ businesses.’

Jason is an experienced litigator having acted in disputes in all Western Australian jurisdictions and in other State and Commonwealth jurisdictions as well as domestic and statutory tribunals.

‘Insurers are sophisticated litigants who value pragmatism and commercial decision making. That suits me because that is how I like to practice. We provide commercial solutions to legal problems in order to minimise exposure for the insurer and allow the insured to continue focusing on its core business.’

Jason approaches his work with the view that his service is an extension of the insurer’s, focused on delivering comprehensive support to insureds facing legal challenges in a way that minimises disruption to their core business.
