Jane specialises in public liability, government and institutional liability, property damage, and coverage advice. She acts for a range of insurers, self-insurers, and government agencies.

Jane has practiced in insurance law for over two decades and has extensive experience defending public liability claims, including those involving catastrophic injuries, nervous shock, injuries to minors, and sensitive institutional or school-related matters.

Jane has advised a diverse range of insureds, including mining companies, schools, nursing homes, allied health professionals, occupiers of residential and commercial buildings, contractors, local councils, telecommunication companies, mining companies, small businesses and sole traders, real estate agents, dentists, security companies, hotels, government agencies, and religious entities.

'I enjoy working closely with insurers and other stakeholders with a view to approaching matters on a commercial basis where appropriate, and to manage more sensitive claims in a manner which acknowledges and accounts for those sensitivities. To do this requires a well-developed understanding of each insured’s business or undertaking, and consideration of how to best reflect this within matter strategy.'

Jane is proactive in investigating matters as soon as they are received to identify claims suitable for early resolution, and to develop a strong strategy for the resolution or defence for those likely to proceed further. Her breadth of experience enables her to quickly grasp the complexities of insureds’ businesses and apply that knowledge to effectively manage and resolve claims.
