Helen Li

Helen Li is a special counsel in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Sydney office. She is a Law Society of New South Wales accredited specialist in personal injury law.

Helen has over 20 years’ pre- and post-admission experience in personal injury law. Before joining Barry Nilsson, she worked for a mid-tier firm where she managed a mixed public liability and compulsory third party (CTP) practice.

She currently specialises in:

• Personal injury law
• CTP
• Public liability
• General insurance law
• Administrative law.

‘I enjoy litigation and I’m particularly interested in fraud investigations. I like working with insurance clients because they are cautious risk assessors but, at the same time, they are realistic about the likely outcome of claims when it comes to providing instructions to their legal advisors.’

Helen regularly conducts training sessions for clients.

Helen has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA), Women in Insurance and the Law Society of New South Wales.
