Emma advises on a wide range of insurance matters, including public liability, professional indemnity, compulsory third party, and medical negligence.
Emma has extensive experience in liability matters, including catastrophic personal injury claims involving severe brain injury, birthing injuries and fatalities, and abuse claims. Her financial lines experience includes defending professional indemnity claims on behalf of engineers, building surveyors, accountants, real estate agents, solicitors, financial planners, and health professionals.
Emma has managed several health and safety cases, including those involving complex issues relating to the Dust Diseases Act 2005 (SA). She has also advised clients in investigations into mining incidents involving both fatalities and serious injuries, and has delivered training to mining industry clients on how to engage with SafeWork SA.
‘I enjoy working on insurance matters because the matters are diverse. I’ve worked cases covering issues such property damage, business interruption, personal injury, abuse and professional indemnity. Insurance clients tend to be very knowledgeable and commercially oriented, so I find working with them to achieve the best possible outcome particularly rewarding.’
In addition to Emma's insurance practice, she occasionally assists with commercial matters, including property, bankruptcy, insolvency, employment, consumer protection and debt recovery.
