Elizabeth is a Senior Associate in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Brisbane office.

Elizabeth advises local insurers, local authorities, in addition to domestic and London-based Underwriters. She has acted on behalf of various entities, including principal contractors, host employers, large commercial retail operators, body corporates and mining entities, along with smaller businesses.

'I am drawn to insurance law because it allows me to operate at the intersection of everyday life and the law. The content of my work challenges me to understand the unique facts of each claim, engage with a variety of stakeholders and apply my technical understanding of the law to achieve the best outcome for my clients.'

Having practised in civil litigation since 2017, Elizabeth has experience in a variety of complex personal injury matters including fatalities and catastrophic injuries, dependency claims and serious workplace injury claims. Her skillset extends to advising on indemnity, liability and quantum issues in a broad spectrum of claim contexts.

Elizabeth understands the value of conducting early and thorough investigations in order to evaluate the merit of a claim and develop persuasive case theories in relation to causation and liability. She understands that while an in-depth technical understanding is crucial, her most valuable contribution is ability her to decipher the jargon and provide clear and comprehensive advice relevant to her client’s situation and commercial needs. This practice is bolstered by Elizabeth’s ability to establish a rapport with key stakeholders including clients, brokers and insureds.

Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Public Policy and International Relations) from the University of Queensland. She is a member of the Queensland Law Society and a long-term volunteer with the LawRight Self Representation Service.
