Edward Mitchell

Edward specialises in health law, medical negligence and personal injury claims, Coroner’s investigations and inquests (including appearing as counsel at inquests), AHPRA notifications, disciplinary proceedings, and risk management issues.

Edward has acted for, and defended, a variety of medical and health care providers including hospitals, medical practitioners, dentists, and allied health practitioners.

After graduating, Edward worked as Associate to the Honourable Justice Kelly in the Supreme Court of South Australia, before moving into private practice. Edward has practiced exclusively in health and general litigation and dispute resolution since commencing his career.

'I have always had an interest in health, having studied health science at university in addition to law. I find it to be a fascinating and diverse area, which is expanding at a rapid pace.'

Edward appreciates the high financial and personal cost of litigation for health professionals and where appropriate endeavours to take proactive steps to resolve claims and disputes at an early stage.
