Winner announced for the 2023 Next Gen Insurance Leader Award

Barry Nilsson and Young Insurance Professionals are thrilled to announce the winner of the 2023 Next Gen Insurance Leader Award. Congratulations to Rachel Hardy from AXA XL for taking out the title, along with a $5,000 cash prize.

Now in its fifth year, the Next Gen Insurance Leader Award recognises business and leadership potential, and encourages and supports the development of young insurance professionals throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The submission guidelines provided the opportunity to explore pressing issues within the insurance sector, including greenwashing, psychosocial hazards, deepfake technology, cancel culture, and the role of trust in insurance. Notably, a second component was introduced to the submission criteria, inviting participants to articulate their own strategies for effectively steering the industry through unforeseen challenges. Amongst a strong group of finalist submissions, Rachel produced an impressive analysis of the critical battle for consumer trust in the insurance industry, highlighting its pivotal role amid rising competition and changing consumer spending habits.

Congratulations also goes to this year’s finalists, Beau Murphy (Arch Insurance) and Isaac Proctor (Hesketh Henry) for their outstanding submissions.
