Making a meaningful difference to our communities and environment.

As a firm, and individually, we understand the importance of contributing positively to the communities in which we live and conduct our business. Through BN’s Impact Project, we are committed to providing free legal services to vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, supporting charitable and community causes, advancing equality for First Nations peoples, and driving sustainability and ESG initiatives across the firm.

We’re proud to share our Impact Project Annual Report for 2023/2024, with highlights including:

  • Achieved 115% of the National Pro Bono Target and an average of 40 pro bono hours per lawyer
  • Contributed $2.7 million in free legal advice, representation, and community funding to support clients and our community legal partners
  • Reached our $200,000 pledge to major charity partner, Shoreline, enabling 30 First Nations students access to their career pathway program
  • Completed our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Set a 100 renewable energy target for 2025 and a 95% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions (far surpassing the 42% requirement).

Looking ahead, we are excited to lead further positive change in our communities and environmental efforts.
