In Australia, we are having an aged care revolution, with a once in a generation legislative change in the form of the Aged Care Act 2024. The rights of the elderly have been placed front and centre of this legislative change.

The Aged Care Act 2024 commences on 1 July 2025 and will demand close attention not only from the operators of aged care facilities, but also those providing services to them, including doctors and other healthcare providers. For a range of operators and providers, the Aged Care Act 2024 introduces stricter compliance requirements, harsher penalties for non-compliance, and enhanced regulatory scrutiny.

Join BN's Rob Samut in our next First Thursday Club session as we unpack the operation of this transformative legislation. We'll explore how it will reshape the way we care for our aged population, and how the changes will affect health care providers in the aged care sector.
