Every few years, the topic of a no-fault compensation system is raised. Most articles focus on the benefits of such a scheme, while providing little analysis into the financial costs involved.

Join BN's Rob Samut in our next First Thursday Club discussion where we will take a look at the arguments for and against no-fault compensation schemes. Without giving too much away on where we land, we will then look to see where the law is at in balancing the interests of plaintiffs and defendants in a clinical setting, and how claims against health care providers might be best defended.

During this discussion, we will delve into critical questions, such as:

  • Are all available defences being used?
  • How might these defences best be proved?
  • Where are we at with medico legal claims in 2024?
  • With so few matters going to trial, are defendants paying above the odds to settle claims?
  • Do we have a pseudo no-fault scheme in operation?

We hope that you can join us to help answer these questions and to otherwise be part of our audience.
