Barry Nilsson is proud to be partnering with BMS Risk Solutions to host an inspiring presentation as part of this year’s Dive In Festival, the insurance industry’s leading festival for diversity, equity and inclusion. We would be delighted for you to join us for a presentation by Kath Koschel, founder of the Kindness Factory.

Kath has faced almost unimaginable hurdles. In her mid-twenties, she broke her back and was told she may never walk again. Shortly afterwards, she lost her beloved partner to suicide. Then, just as she was piecing her life back together, she was hit by a drunk driver while cycling and forced to relearn to walk a second time.

Remarkably, in the midst of these harrowing experiences Kath discovered the power of kindness and inclusion. She will share her story of strength and resilience, and her unique perspective on how inclusion can lead to innovation in everyday life.

Please follow the steps provided to register. If you are unable to attend in person, please register (but do not sign up to the event) to be notified when the session recording becomes available. You may also like to register for other events in the Dive In festival program.

Kath Koschel is the founder of Kindness Factory, a global not for profit organisation and movement which inspires ordinary people to do extraordinary things. A former professional cricketer and Iron Man competitor, Kath has defied all medical prognoses by teaching herself to walk on three separate occasions. Despite facing other serious personal, mental and physical setbacks, her resilience allowed her not only to overcome these challenges, but also see the good in the world when most others couldn’t.

In 2015, Kath founded Kindness Factory with a goal of inspiring 1 million acts of kindness. To date, she has raised close to half a million dollars for various charity organisations and was the recipient of the 2016 Pride of Australia Medal for showing courage in the face of extreme adversity. In 2017, Kath was awarded the Young Australian Medal and the people’s choice of Australia award.
