Liz Langford-Ely

Liz is a senior associate in our Family Law team in Brisbane. In 2017, she gained her Specialist Accreditation in Family Law with the Queensland Law Society.

‘Since joining the Barry Nilsson family law team in 2013, I have been fortunate to learn from, and be mentored by, highly experienced and respected family lawyers. We work closely with our clients to ensure they understand the legal process and that the best outcome for their family is achieved.’

Liz is involved in all aspects of family law including divorce, property settlements, parenting and financial matters, child support, domestic violence matters, drafting court documents and appearing in court.

Prior to starting her legal career, Liz worked in the construction industry as a contracts administrator and worked on a number of large projects around Brisbane and Queensland.

Due to Liz’s well-rounded professional experience, including a track record as a successful negotiator and litigator, she brings a high level of sophistication and confidence to each and every matter.

Liz holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Education. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Law Society of Queensland, Queensland Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Queensland and Women Lawyers Association of Queensland. Liz was listed in the 2019 edition of Doyle's Guide as a Leading Parenting & Children's Matters Lawyer in Brisbane. Liz has also been recognised in Best Lawyers for Family Law since 2021.
