Karl Abboud

Karl is a Senior Associate in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Sydney office.

Karl specialises in:

With a focus on the building and construction industry, Karl acts for a variety of insureds on both large and small construction projects including subcontractors, builders and developers. Karl has experience advising his clients on various construction related disputes which occur on site, and defending litigation proceedings with respect to construction contract breaches, disputes as to building defects and defect rectification.

“My approach is to first meet with the client and understand their legal concerns as well as what they are trying to achieve. I make it a priority to keep things straightforward and simplify the legal complexities to ensure that clients are fully informed about their position and empowered to make sound decisions regarding their matters.”

Karl has experience in defending claims in all jurisdictions from Tribunals and Local Courts to the Supreme and Federal Courts, including in Queensland and Victoria.

“I provide my clients with an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of their case at the outset of the matter to determine the best possible strategy for the best and most commercial result. This ensures costs for my clients are minimised.”

Karl has a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce. He is a member of the NSW Law Society.
