Dee Kelly
Special Counsel
Dee Kelly is a Special Counsel in our Insurance and Health team and is based in the Brisbane office.
Dee specialises in:
- Defending medical negligence claims
- Coronial investigations
- Assisting medical professional in investigations by the OHO / AHPRA

Dee joined BN in September 2020, bringing with her over 10 years’ experience advising on health law and medical negligence claims in New South Wales. Prior to commencing at BN, Dee specialised in defending medical negligence claims against numerous NSW local health districts and their indemnified VMOs in both the District Court and Supreme Court of NSW. Additionally, Dee assisted in coronial investigations / hearings on instructions from several NSW local health districts and panel firms.
After relocating to Queensland in 2017, Dee acted on instructions from two Medical Defence Organisations defending PIPA claims against health practitioners and assisting health practitioners in coronial investigations and investigations by the OHO / AHPRA.

Dee has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), and is a member of the Medicolegal Society of Queensland.
