  • Compulsory Third Party (CTP)

Carl has over 20 years’ experience in managing a variety of personal injury matters. In addition to orthopaedic, psychiatric, and severe burn injuries claims, Carl has extensive experience advising on significant catastrophic personal injuries claims including brain injuries and spinal injuries.

Early on in his career, Carl spent some time working in North Queensland before returning to Brisbane working in both national and smaller injury law firms.

“Having worked for a great proportion of my time in the legal profession as a plaintiff lawyer, I understand from a grass roots level how those claims are approached, managed, and run. This has enabled me to ensure my current clients’ interests are advanced in the best possible way”.

Carl acts for a variety of clients including Government authorities, London-based underwriters, as well as clients in the mining and construction industry. He also has a particular interest in Institutional claims.

“What attracted me to Barry Nilsson was that the firm is known as a leader in Insurance and Health law. The firm has a Queensland home, but a national presence”.

Carl has been recognised by Doyle's Guide as a Recommended Dust Diseases Lawyer (Qld) in 2016 to 2019 and in 2021.

Carl holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Arts (French). He is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
