Alexandra Talbot

Alexandra is an Associate in our Family Law team and is based in the Melbourne office.

Since 2019, Alexandra has practised exclusively in the area of family law. She has gained considerable experience in all aspects of family law including in both complex and non-complex property settlements and children’s matters.

After graduating, Alexandra was employed by a government funded firm where she provided legal assistance to financially disadvantaged persons. In 2019, Alexandra moved into private practice, where she worked in a leading and renowned family law team in Adelaide before relocating to Melbourne to join the Barry Nilsson family law team in 2024.

Alexandra understands that a breakdown of the family unit is often one of life’s most difficult experiences. She is compassionate and empathetic. She prides herself on her ability to provide realistic advice and resolve disputes efficiently, while minimising conflict. Alexandra promotes out of court settlement options where possible and takes a sensible and holistic approach to supporting her clients.

Alexandra is resolution focused. She is motivated to ensure her clients understand the separation pathway and all options to resolve their family law matter.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice with Honours from Flinders University, South Australia and she is trained in Collaborative Practice.
